When the calling bell rang, Akila ran and opened the door. It was Ramu uncle. He gave her a hug and a kiss and presented her with a diary. “Oh, uncle, thank you. Lovely colour. But I am only in eighth grade. I may not use a diary. I will keep it to write other things,” said Akila.
Uncle came in and sat on the sofa. He drew Akila close and said, “You must start writing the everyday events in your diary. All great men and women did that. Later on, it was useful to write their biography. It is a good habit. Start today.” “What shall I write today?” asked Akila. “Ok. You may write how you enjoyed this New Year’s Day. You may write that you received a gift diary and decided to write your journal from today onwards. Just write what comes to your mind. You will improve,” said Uncle.
Akila ran inside to get a pen. She sat down and wrote. Uncle was happy.
Keeping a journal of your life is very important. So, learn this discipline early in life
