It was a camp. A crowd was in a room. Someone’s money was missing and the thief could not be found. “Don’t worry” said an old man. “Bring a rooster and a cooking pot from a coal stove. I’ll catch the thief.” So both were brought. The crowd was instructed by the old man: “All lights will be put off. Each of you will place both your hands on the pot and remove. When the thief places his hands on the pot the rooster inside will crow.”
So all lights were put off. Each one placed his hands on the pot. All had finished but the rooster did not crow. Lights were switched on and the old man inspected each pair of hands. Only one pair was clean. All other hands were dirty with soot. The thief was caught.
Guilty conscience will make you behave differently. Have a clean conscience and you will behave normally. Your sleep will be sound.
