Savithri and her husband Seran were a poor couple. They had rich and good neighbors, Seema and Sridhar. Savithri’s sister was getting married. Savithri wanted to wear the diamond necklace that she had seen Seema wear. She hesistantly asked Seema to spare it for three days. “No problem,” said Seema and gave her the necklace.
During the wedding Savithri felt her neck for the necklace and was shocked to find it missing. How would she face Seema? Savithri and Seran vacated their house overnight and left for a distant town. There they toiled and moiled for twenty years and saved money and finally purchased a diamond necklace. They returned to their old house and met their neighbors Seema and Sridhar. They handed over the jewel case and told the entire story and profusely apologized.
Seema opened the case and finding a dazzling diamond necklace exclaimed, “What is this? This is original diamond. What I gave you was just an imitation diamond necklace!”
