Rudolph was a reindeer who lived in the North Pole. He had a big red nose. He was very shy about his nose. He cried in the dark after going to bed and prayed hard to God that he would have a normal nose like any of his friends. No answer came from God and he was discouraged. All his friends made fun of his nose and he wished he was not born at all.
Christmas was nearing and Christmas Father wanted a reindeer for his sledge. He did not want an ordinary reindeer. He wanted a deer very different from the others. He went to North Pole to choose a deer. He inspected one reindeer after the other. All looked very ordinary and he was not satisfied with any of them. Then he noticed Rudolph shyly standing in a corner trying to hide himself behind a majestic reindeer. “Oh, you there, come here. Let me see you” shouted Christmas Father. Rudolph hesistantly stepped out. “Oh great” shouted Christmas Father. “Where have you been hiding all the time? You are exactly whom I wanted. Look at your
nose, gorgeous. Children would love you. Would you like to draw my sledge?” Rudolph nodded shyly. All his friends applauded. Since that time hundreds of years ago Rudolph has been going round and round the world, visiting many countries, delivering gifts for rich and poor children. He is very proud of himself today.
May be there is something that you do not like about yourself. It may be your nose or a limp or a stammer or anything else for that matter. Quit worrying. Train yourself where you shine. After many years you will feel proud of yourself and praise God for whatever bothered you!
