There was a mighty big tree in a jungle. Its fruit was sweet and animals and birds enjoyed its fruit and cool shade. One day a big tempest blew and the large tree was uprooted. The tree fell with a crash. She cried, “Why did God allow this? Have I not been serving everybody?” The winds blew, the rain lashed and the sun scorched. The tree was buried in soil and dead leaves.
The tree sank deeper and deeper into the ground. The heat was terrible. The tree waited for help but nobody came to its rescue. She wept, “God has forgotten me.”
Years and years rolled by. The tree lost all hope. One day she heard noises of digging on top. After a few days the team reached the tree and exclaimed, “Ah, here, the best coal ever!” They dug up coal. Someone picked up a hardened piece of the tree and shouted, “Look at this. It is as hard as a stone. It looks like a precious stone to me.” He took it to the jewelry shop and indeed it was a diamond. The jeweller put him in a machine and cut him. It was torture. But out came a dazzling diamond. The king heard of this very big special diamond and sent and purchased it. He had it fixed in his crown. The tree said, “Thank you, Lord. It is worth it!”
Do you know coal is transformed to diamond under tremendous heat and pressure? God is making you into a diamond!
