Sumathi sent her sons Mohan and Kumaran to the provision shop. She dictated the list and Mohan noted it down. Kumaran teased Mohan for being in the times of Hyder Ali. He took out his mobile phone and noted the items. They both jumped on to the moped and off they went, Mohan driving and Kumar at the back playing with the mobile.
Half way through, Mohan said, “Kumara, I left the slip and bag on the table. What shall we do?” Kumaran replied, “Don’t worry, I have it in my mobile phone.” As they stopped at the shop, Kumaran said in an agitated voice, “Mohan, by mistake I erased the list while playing in the mobile.”
As they stood there scratching their heads, the shopkeeper Sivagnanam handed over a bag to them and said, “Your mother phoned me. Here are all the provisions. Now go home quickly.” Mohan sheepishly paid the money and took the bag.
Mummy said, “You have a moped and cell phone. Yet by forgetfulness all goes waste.” “Amma, I don’t know how I forgot the list,” said Mohan. Amma said, “It’s all because of carelessness. If your mind is set on a game that affects an important job, the job will suffer. You must practice to do only one job at a time. Then you can do that one job properly,” said mummy.
