Balaram found no way of living. He met a sage and poured out his woes. The sage listened patiently and said, “The world is very wide. If you cannot find an occupation in your town then go to the next town. God will bless the hard worker.”
So Balaram left for the next town and returned in three days. He met the sage and said, “Sir, on my way I rested under a tree. On the tree was a crow with a broken, infected and painful foot. Another crow flew in and fed this crow with the food he brought. A thought struck me. If God can feed a lonely crow, will He not feed me too? So I returned home.”
The sage smiled and asked, “Which crow are you? Are you the lame crow expecting food from someone or the hard working crow that fends for himself and feeds others too?”
Balaram was ashamed of himself. He started to the next town to somehow find a job to feed his family and also the poor.
Work hard, harder, hardest. That’s the way to come up in life.
