Amudha sent her two sons, Bagavan and Yuvanesh to buy vegetables. While returning, they checked the bill and found that the shopkeeper had given them 20 rupees extra in the balance. Bagavan was excited. “Come, there they are selling bajjis right out of the fire. They will be hot and nice. We can profitably use the twenty rupees,” he said. Yuvanesh was not for it.
So they walked back to the shop and explained to the shopkeeper, handing over the bill. His face lit up with a broad smile. “Nowadays it is very rare to see people like you. God bless you. Here, take this mint and coriander leaves to your mother. She will be happy,” The boys returned home with a light heart. Their mother gave them kisses for their honest behaviour.
Honesty is the best policy.
