It was Saturday. The whole family was watching TV sitting under the ceiling fan. The fan made fun of the hand fans made of palmirah leaves: “ Silly fans. Who needs you? You are fit to be thrown away. Look at me. People just can’t do without me.” The hand fans said in unison, “Don’t boast. We are small, yet we are useful.” Suddenly the current went off. Everything came to a standstill. People started to sweat. There was the sound of uz, uz everywhere and everyone dashed for the hand fans. Each took a hand fan and relaxed.
The hand fans smiled at the ceiling fan. The ceiling fan said shyly, “I’m sorry. You are so useful.”
Never be arrogant. If you look insignificant and small, do not get discouraged. God knows where and when to use you. Be patient. God will lift up your head.
