Once Emperor Akbar went for hunting and night fell when he returned. The team lost their way and wandered. Finally they hit a road. A lad was loudly singing and walking the road. Akbar’s soldiers stopped him.
“What is your name?” asked Akbar. “Maheshdas, what is your name?” asked the lad. The soldiers warned him saying he was talking to the emperor. Akbar quietened them and said, “My name is Akbar. I am the emperor of Hindustan. We have lost our way. We need to go to Agra. Where does this road go?”
Maheshdas smiled and said, “This road doesn’t go anywhere. It will remain where it is. Even though you may be the emperor, YOU have to go where you want to go.” Akbar could not help laughing. He gave the lad one of his rings and asked him to see him in his Agra palace.
The lad went to the palace and remained as the lifetime companion of Akbar, in the name of Birbal.
God sent His only Son Jesus Christ to this earth to die on the cross so that you can go to heaven. Now the road to heaven has been laid. It is your responsibility to walk the road to heaven with the grace of God.
