Rishi Sahedar was teaching self-defence, exercises and meditation to students. Siddarth was interested in learning selfdefence. So he went to the Ashram where the Rishi lived and asked him to teach selfdefence. “Sir, I want to learn self-defence. I will join today. When will you start the lessons? How long will it take for me to perfect the art?” Siddarth bombarded the Rishi with questions.
Sahedar smiled and said, “If we start now it may take six years.” “Oh, my, so long? I want to learn fast. I will work hard and spend any number of hours a day. In that case how long will it take?” asked Siddarth anxiously. The Rishi smiled and said, “Twelve years.”
You cannot learn properly if you are in a hurry. Patiently work on whatever you are doing.
