A white blind elephant lived in a forest. She had a baby white elephant. Because the mother was blind the baby used to bring leaves to feed the mother. One day while collecting leaves for the mother, the baby elephant saw a man lost in the forest. The baby told the man, “You wait here. I will feed my mother and come and take you out of the forest.” When the baby told the mother what happened she warned the baby saying, “Don’t trust humans. They are wicked people.” But the baby wanted to help the man. So he went and carried the man out of the forest and left him. He thanked the baby and left.
The man went to the king and told him about the white baby elephant. He said if the king possessed a white elephant he’d become very famous. So the king sent men, caught the baby elephant and brought it to the palace.
Tears were rolling down the baby’s eyes. The king asked him why he was crying. The Baby told him about his blind mother and said she’d die if he did not feed her.
The king felt very sorry and brought the blind elephant to his palace and fed them both. The Baby said, “My mother warned that people are wicked. I didn’t listen to her.” The King’s daughter said, “Yes, the man who betrayed you was bad. But my father is kind and feeds you both. So all people are not bad.” The mother and Baby lived happily in the palace.
There are bad and good people in the world too. We must leave the bad people and associate ourselves with good people.
