The army captain of a country died. Many were invited for the selection to fill his place. Ultimately Ramu and Somu were chosen. They were to face the final test the next day. The winner would be the captain and also get 1000 gold coins. All arrangements were made for their stay in the night in the palace in different rooms. Night, the palace cook came to Ramu’s room. He said, “Listen to me. I will add sleeping pills to Somu’s dinner. So he will definitely lose tomorrow and you’ll be the winner. Only, you give me the 1000 gold coins.” Ramu was shocked. “This job is to protect our country; our country’s safety depends on the winner. The fit person for the job must be selected. If Somu proves better than me, then he should become the captain. That’s best for our country. Please don’t put sleeping pills in his dinner,” said Ramu. The cook assured him and left. The cook went to Somu and presented the same deal. Somu grabbed the opportunity and said, ‘Yes.’ The next day both the contestants entered the King’s court.
The King said, “The final test was over yesternight. How can a slave to money save the country?” May doing the right thing be always your might.
