Sunny Woman
Reading: Luke 10:25-37
“To you who fear My name the Sun of Righteousness
shall arise with healing in His wings;
and you shall go out and grow fat like stall-fed calves” (Mal 4:2)
There’s more to being a Sunny Woman. It doesn’t stop short of preaching the Good News. We must have healing in our wings. Jesus healed the sick and preached the Gospel. He had compassion on the people and fed them because they might “faint” on the way (Mt 15:32). He had a shepherd’s heart.
When we heal the spirit of people we must care for their bodily needs too. Many sick come to us. Some ask us if their children can be put in hostels or seek financial help. We must do our level best to lift up the standard of people. You can see children in your Sunday Classes with vitamin deficiencies. Don’t turn a blind eye to it. Bring a doctor and give a medical check-up to all the children. This speaks louder to the people about Jesus than your shouting over the microphone.
God the Sun gave His only Son as a sacrifice to save the world. What shall we do for Him? Should we not imitate Him by dedicating our children for His service? That is the least we can do for Him. Like Hannah who gave her only son let us give our children to God (Jn 3:16).
In Luke 21:25 we read that there will be signs in the sun to warn people of Christ’s Second Coming. “Here am I, and the children the Lord has given me. We are signs and symbols in Israel (Isa 8:18). Isaiah’s family was a living witness to the perverse generation of his time. The credit goes to Mrs. Isaiah who made her children as signs to the degenerate Israel. We are here to show the world a better way of living. They are groping like blind people without a model to follow. Let us and our children be signs and symbols to them.
Finally, come to Revelation 22:5, “There will be no more night. They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light.” At last we can rest from our labours. Those who have run the race well will receive their reward. No more sweating, fear or toil. No more struggle, pain or tears. Today it is sorrrow, tomorrow it is song.
Tomorrow we shall see the best aspect about the Sunny Woman and close the study with it.
