Reading: Romans 1:21-32
“Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts.
Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations
for unnatural ones” (Rom 1:26)
Lesbianism or woman having sexual relations with another woman is a manifestation of God’s wrath. We know the recent developments and how India has legalised lesbianism, relaxing its rules. When a woman does not acknowledge the true God knowingly He gives up on her. “God gave them over” (Rom 1:26). In many places in the Bible we read of Jesus saying, “Leave them” (Mt 15:14; Lk 9:5). It is a horrible thing to be left out by God. When a woman does not want God, He gives her up or over to sexual impurity; then to lesbianism and finally to a depraved mind. Aids is also a threat.
It is quite possible that a girl or woman shows an unnatural affection for you that arouses your sexual passion. Recognise the danger and immediately move away from her. If she is your room-mate, change your room. Treat it as a deadly sin and keep yourself from all appearance of evil. “Flee sexual immorality” (2 Tim 2:22).
Do not argue that lesbianism is legally okay. It is morally a sin, condemned by God. It will lead you to a depraved mind from which escape is hard. The world is going elsewhere but we Christians should not go as the world goes. Our code of conduct is entirely different.
If you are already hooked and feeling guilty, make some solid decisions today. Move away from your partner. For that you may have to sacrifice anything that will hinder your entry into heaven (Mt 5:29,30). “Nothing impure will ever enter it nor will anyone who does what is shameful” (Rev 21:27).
Start with prayer. God will help you in some way if you are sincere and cooperative. He loves you and wants you out of it. Read the Bible regularly which will sharpen you conscience and make you hate the sin. You can also confide in a Christian Counsellor, a trustworthy aunty or a teacher who will be able to guide you.
With people this is impossible but with God all things are possible.
