Like a lion they crouch and lie down, like a lioness ...” (Num 24:9). God’s women are lionesses. We should not behave like sissies.
“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid;
do not be discouraged,
for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go” (Josh 1:9)
“Women should face life courageously. The odds are against women. They face discriminations and disadvantages due to feminine weaknesses. Yet we forget that they can become our strengths.
Women often go through emotional upheavals that culminate in nervous breakdowns or suicides. I want to tell you that you have the strength to handle anything life throws at you. You don’t have to let misfortune get you down. In fact you can benefit from an adverse situation. Do not give up without a fight. Confront the issue head on.
It seems olive trees stand drought, famine, floods, heat and cold and all kinds of weather. They will appear dead but will sprout up. So they are a symbol of hope. May be that’s why when Noah sent a dove, it returned with an olive leaf. Do you see yourself there? God has made you a lioness and an olive tree. Don’t give in to the suggestion of the devil to give up. There is hope, plenty of it.
The first lesson in swimming is to keep your head under water and float. It is a terrible experience. You start kicking, and the moment you start kicking, you start drowning. Gradually you learn that if you stretch out flat and keep calm, the water will lift and hold you up. God tells us to be still and know that He is God.
Life can be merciless and cruel but you must keep telling yourself that you are a lioness. That is how Hagar, Leah, Naomi, Esther, Hannah, Anna and such ladies survived the tragedies that hit their lives. None of them was a failure in life. They faced life boldly and survived the odds. Let come what may, never give up without a fight. If you go down, go down with the flag in your hand.
Nothing can happen to you that God and you cannot together tackle. Jesus said, “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in Me” (Jn 14:1).
Because He lives, I can face tomorrow; Because He lives, all fear is gone;
Because I know, yes, I know, He holds my future, and
Life is worth the living, just because He lives!
