“Wisdom is better than folly, just as light is better than darkness” (Eccl 2:13)
I need not tell you that these days one cannot come up in life without a good academic qualification. Young girls should commit themselves to their studies. Let nothing steal away your study time. Don’t allow anything to distract you. If you find it hard to apply your mind to what you are reading, then read aloud. It helps. Close your book and try repeating what you studied. Count the points and try recounting all the points.
Don’t think writing down the answers is a waste of time. You will find that you remember better if you write down. If you have someone to listen to, may be your mother or granny or aunt, then you recite the answers to them or teach them. Never say 50% is enough. That is not enough. Push yourself to 60%, then more and some more. You can also sit with your friends and study. Group study helps a lot. You can conduct an exam among yourselves.
If after your best efforts you are not able to score high, don’t kill yourself. Do not be discouraged by what your parents or teachers say. If God has given you one talent, He expects only one more from you, according to your ability. He has a plan and purpose for your life and He expects you to live your life to the full and accomplish that purpose. Learn to accept and love yourself.
So, do not compare yourself with someone and get disheartened. You are unique. Your life’s purpose is to discover what God wants you to do and do it. He will reveal it to you step by step. There is dignity in each job. So whatever qualification you are able to achieve, be happy and take up a job that comes your way and shine in it. You can also choose to be a housewife which is not less than any other job. Peter was a fisherman and Paul was a scholar and they fit into God’s big puzzle.
Avoid too much coffee and tea. Sleep well, especially before the examination. Do not become nervous. Trust in God and write your exams. On no account should you neglect prayer and Bible reading. You may prepare the horse for the battle but remember, victory comes from the Lord! (Prov 21:31)
