“Even while you sleep among the sheep-pens, the wings of my dove are sheathed with silver, its feathers with shining gold” (Psa 68:13)
Women always seem to suffer from an inferiority complex because they are women. How mistaken they are! Men may be lions but they don’t have wings. The above verse depicts women as doves. “My” dove, says God. It is in singular, meaning, each of us is personally known to God. We are His doves. We belong to Him (SS 2:14; 5:2; 6:9).
We may be sleeping among sheep-pens, despised by the world, lying in dirt and foul smell. But as His eyes found Hagar in the desert, His eyes are on you wherever you may be (Gen 16:13). Don’t be weeping about your situation; instead be a dove for God.
Like the dove that came into the ark and went back into the wide world, fly into the world with the Good News. Do not be caged in a little house (Gen 8:11,12). You must sacrifice your life that sinners may find salvation (Lev 5:7). When sorrow and fear overwhelm you, fly like a dove to the Lord’s feet and find rest (Psa 55:6-8). You are His dove and He will never hand over your life to your enemies (Psa 74:19). Have dove’s eyes that reflect your innocence (SS 1:15; 5:2; 6:9). Mourn for your sins like a dove and cleanse yourself (Ezek 7:16; Nah 2:7). If you have wandered from God’s ways, come back like a trembling dove to your Creator (Hos 11:11; Jer 48:28). He will never reject you. His forgiveness is wide as the ocean. The season of singing has come. Shed off your sorrows and keep singing your favourite songs. Keep talking to your Saviour who is longingly waiting to hear your voice (SS 2:12).
Like a mourning dove cry to God for your needs (Isa 38:14). He is a prayer answering God. Never forget your home responsibilities; fly back to your nest (Isa 60:8). Be wise to know the time of your migration from this world to your heavenly abode (Jer 8:7). Never get attached to this world. We are living in the last days. Be not like a senseless dove, easily deceived; but be wise as a serpent to discern false teachings (Hos 7:11; Mt 10:16). Protect yourself by the Word of God to escape deception.
Then you will fly high with silver wings and gold feathers!
