Manickam and Selvam joined guitar classes. Both started to learn the lessons enthusiastically. The guitar teacher would teach and then give homework. He would advise them to go home and practise the lessons he taught.
Manickam would come home, then go to the playground. Then he would have a wash and sit to study. After dinner he would practise the guitar lessons. Selvam followed the same routine but after dinner would watch TV. His parents coaxed him to practise guitar but he did not want to miss his TV programme. The teacher would appreciate Manickam and chide Selvam.
After one year Manickam joined the Church choir, and after two years he was the guitarist in school plays. Children would surround him to watch him play the guitar expertly. Selvam thought of all the time he wasted and started practising the guitar. But he lost two years.
Practice makes you perfect. Whether it is music or sports or singing or whatever, you must practise and practise and become perfect. Minimize T.V.
