A young man went to army. His mother pleaded with him to accept Christ as his Saviour but he had no mind. His mother gave him a New Testament and asked him to keep it in his pocket and read it whenever he found the time. So he kept it in his chest pocket but never read it.
His battalion went out to fight the enemy. Bullets were flying everywhere. Suddenly a bullet hit him in the chest and he fell down. He thought he was dead. He felt the impact but not the pain. He slowly got up dazed and saw what had happened. The bullet had hit the New Testament and gone into it and lodged inside it. He reverently opened the New Testament that saved his life. The bullet was pointing to John 3:16: “God so loved the world that He gave His only Son Jesus Christ, that whoever believes in him should not go to hell but go to heaven.” There in the battlefield he knelt down and received Jesus into His heart.
Don’t forget to read God’s Word every day. It will save you from hell.
