Once upon a time there lived a Red Rooster. He found a bag of grain near the roadside. He was excited. He called the cat and the dog and the sparrow saying, “Come, let’s plough the field.” All the three refused. So the Rooster ploughed the field. He called the cat and the dog and the sparrow and said, “Come, let’s go to the field and sow the seeds.” “Oh, no,” said all the three. So the Rooster sowed the seeds. “Come, let’s water the field,” the Rooster invited all the three. “Oh, it’s cold,” they said. So the Rooster watered the field. The crop gave a good yield. “Come on, let’s harvest the grains,” called the Rooster excitedly. “It’s hot summer. We can’t come,” said the three.
So the Rooster harvested the grain. “We have to take it the mill. Come and help me,” begged the Rooster. “Don’t you see we are playing?” replied the three. So the Rooster carried the sacks of grain to the mill with great difficulty. “We’ll take it to the
baker. Please come,” requested the Rooster. “We are very tired,” said the three.
The bread was baked and ready and the Rooster carried them home. The smell of bread wafted outside the window. The cat and the dog and the sparow peeped in and said, “We shall come and help you.” “No, thank you. I can manage it myself,” said the Rooster
and had a hearty meal.
If you don’t work, you should not eat. Help your parents at home.
