The Last Gulp

It was famine time. The rains had failed. There was a small pond in the forest from where all the animals drank. Finally there was only a small puddle left. So all the animals decided to stand in a queue and take only one gulp. So one by one each animal came and took one gulp. At last there was only one gulp of water left in the pond. The last in the queue was the donkey. The donkey took the last gulp and the water was gone. All the animals got angry with the donkey and beat him up for emptying the pond.

Is that fair? Do not blame others for your own fault. In a fault, all those responsible should share the blame.
