Once upon a time there lived a miser called Karamchand. He went to have a coconut drink. The seller of tender coconuts wanted Rs. 20 for a coconut. Karamchand asked, “Will you give it for 10 rupees?” The seller said, “If you walk a mile from here you’ll
get it for ten rupees.”
Karamchand walked. He came to the next tender coconut seller. The seller was shouthig, “Ten rupees, ten rupees, one coconut for ten rupees.” Karamchand asked, “Will you give it for five rupees?” The seller replied, “If you walk a mile ahead you’ll get it
for five rupees.”
Karamchand walked again. At last he came to a tender coconut shop near a coconut tree farm. He asked the seller, “How much does a coconut cost?” The seller said, “Five rupees each.” Karamchand asked, “Won’t you give it for one rupee each?” The man replied, “If you climb on the coconut tree and pluck one for yourself, it is only one rupee.” So Karamchand started climbing. When he was almost at the top, he slipped and fell down. His back was broken. He spent one lakh rupees for his surgery.
Do not grumble to give to people for what you get. Live and let live.
