A farmer had some horses and a goat. A horse fell sick and the farmer brought the veterinary doctor. The vet prescribed medicines for three days and told the farmer, “Try this medicine for three days. If your horse doesn’t recover in three days we may have to put him to sleep. Otherwise the virus will spread to other horses.”
So the farmer administered the first dose and left. The goat went to the horse and said, “Now you get up. If you don’t get up in three days they are going to kill you. Please get up.” The horse could not even lift up its head. The next day the farmer gave the second dose and left. The goat came and told the horse, “Buddy, I beg you. Please try. Otherwise you are finished. You have to try.” The horse tried to stand up but then again lay down. The third day the farmer gave the third dose and left. The goat went to the horse and said, “This is your last chance. Come on. I’ll help you. You can do it. Up, up, up.” The goat pulled the horse up and the horse stood up.
The next day the farmer came and saw the horse running. “Hurray,” he shouted. “My horse has recovered. Let’s celebrate. Kill the goat and make pulao!”
Many times the helper goes unrecognised. Help anyway!
