An artist’s son went to war. After a year there was a knock on the artist’s door. It was a young man holding a portrait of the artist’s son. He said, “I was wounded in the war. Your son carried me to the barracks. But as he was going, he was shot dead by the enemy. I have tried my best to draw the picture of your son who saved me.”
The artist was heart-broken. He hung his son’s picture along with all his other paintings. After some years the artist died and, as per his will, all the paintings he owned were auctioned. There was a big gathering awaiting the auction.
First came the son’s picture. Nobody wanted it. So the auctioneer started with a small amount, $20. Still nobody wanted it. “Auction the other pictures. We don’t want this one,” they cried. But the auctioneer said, “As per the will, the son’s picture must go first.” Then a gardener sitting there said, “Sir, I have $15. Can you take it and give me the son’s picture?” “That’s fine,” said the man and handed over the picture to him. “Bring the other pictures,” people restlessly shouted. “The auction is closed,” said the man, because the will says whoever buys the picture of the son inherits all the other paintings, his mansion and cars.”
If you accept Jesus Christ, the Son of God, as your Saviour, you inherit all of God’s blessings.
