“Lord, Teach us to Pray!”

In bitterness of soul HANNAH wept much and prayed to the LORD. And she made a vow.

. As she kept on praying to the LORD... Hannah was praying in her heart, and her lips were moving but her voice was not heard. And Hannah said – I am a woman who is deeply troubled – I was pouring out my soul to the LORD. Then she went her way and ate
something, and her face was no longer downcast… And she said, I prayed for this child, and the LORD has granted me what I asked of Him. So now I give him to the LORD. For his whole life he will be given over to the LORD (1 Sam 1:10-13, 15, 18, 27,
28). Then Hannah prayed and said: I delight in Your deliverance. The LORD is a God who knows, and by Him deeds are weighed. Those who stumbled are armed with strength. She who was barren has borne seven children. He will guard the feet of His
saints, it is not by strength that one prevails. He will exalt the horn of His anointed (1 Sam 2:1, 3, 4, 5, 9, 10). Ask and it will be given to you (Mt 7:7).

· Then MIRIAM the prophetess took a tambourine in her hand, and all the women followed her, with tambourines and dancing. Miriam sang to them: Sing to the LORD, for He is highly exalted (Ex 15:20, 21). You turned my wailing into dancing;
You removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy, that my heart may sing to You and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give You thanks forever (Psa 30:11, 12).

· Do not think that you alone of all the Jews will escape. For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to royal
position for such a time as this? Then ESTHER sent this reply to Mordecai: Go, gather together all and fast. And if I perish, I perish (Esth 4:13-16). Then Esther said, Your Majesty … grant me my life – this is my petition. And spare my people – this is my request (Esth 7:3, 4). Esther again pleaded with the king, falling at his feet and weeping. She begged him…. (Esth 8:3).

· You WOMEN who are so complacent, rise up and listen to me; you DAUGHTERS who feel secure, hear what I have to say! Tremble, you complacent women, for the noisy city deserted; till the Spirit is poured upon us from on High (Is 32:9, 11, 14,
15). If My people, who are called by My Name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land (2 Chr 7:14). Those who hope in Me will
not be disappointed (Isa 49:23). Seek the LORD while He may be found, call on Him while He is near (Isa 55:6). God was appalled that there was no one to intervene (Isa 59:16). No one calls on Your Name or strives to lay hold of You ((Isa 64:7). Oh, that my head were a spring of water and my eyes a fountain of tears! I would weep day and night for the slain of my people. Consider now! Call for the wailing women to come. Let them come quickly and wail over us till our eyes overflow with tears and water streams from our eyelids. O women, hear the Word of the LORD; open your ears to the words of His mouth. Teach your daughters how to wail; teach one another a lament. Death has climbed in to cut off the children from the streets (Jer 9:1, 17, 18, 20, 21). Is it
nothing to you, all you who pass by? (Lam 1:12). My eyes fail from weeping, I am in torment within, my heart is poured out on the ground because my people are destroyed, because children and infants faint in the streets of the city. Arise, cry out in
the night, as the watches of the night begin; pour out your heart like water in the presence of the Lord (Lam 2:11, 19).

· MARY answered, I am the Lord’s servant, May it be to me as you have said. Blessed is she who has believed that what the Lord has said to her will be accomplished! There was also a prophetess, ANNA. She was very old and was a widow until she
was eighty four. She never left the temple but worshipped night and day, fasting and praying (Lk 1:38, 45; 2:36, 37).

· And I will pour out My Spirit on all people….Your DAUGHTERS will prophesy, - even on my WOMEN SERVANTS, I will pour out My Spirit in those days (Joel 2:28, 29). Let the weakling say, I am strong! Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of
decision! Let the nations be roused; for the harvest is ripe (Joel 3:10, 14, 12, 13). The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into His harvest (Mt 9:37, 38). Ask the LORD for rain
in the springtime; it is the LORD who makes the storm clouds. He gives showers of rain to men, and plants of the field to everyone (Zech 10:1). I will pour out a Spirit of grace and supplication (Zech 12:10).
