Mrs. Hepzie Pandian (Mother of Dr. Lilian Stanley)
In these days of Beauty Contests, every born-again lady should know how to beautify herself “according to God’s heart.” Adorn your- self in the 5cripture-way and surely your price will be far above rubies.
First of all, put off the old garments of anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy and filthy language (Col 3:8). Our Beloved hates to see these in you.
Away with the sackcloth (Psa 30:11). No more the spirit of heaviness (Isa 61:3).
Throw away the filthy rags of self-right- eousness (Isa 64:6). Make your complexion fair with hyssop (Psa 51:7).
Now begin your adorning to the King’s taste. Here is a multicoloured robe like Joseph’s coat. It is soft-textured and will suit you best. It is mercy, kindness, humility, meekness and longsuffering interwoven (Col 3:12).
Put on the garment of salvation and the robe of righteousness (Isa 61:10). Let your adornment be modest and sensible (1 Tim 2:9,10).
Over all, put on the garment of praise (Isa 61:3).
Fasten the waistband of love, which is the bond of perfection (Col 3:14). It is set with precious stones of longsuffering, kindness, forbearance, trust, hope and endurance. This will keep you away from envy, pride, unseemly behaviour, selfishness and sensitiveness (1 Cor 13:4-7). This super quality waistband never fades. (1 Cor 13:8).
Now gird yourself with gladness (Psa 30:11).
Brush your hair and apply the oil of joy (Isa 61:3).
The instruction of your father is the grace- ful ornament for your head and the law of your mother is the chain for your neck (Prov 1:8,9). Wear the necklace of truth with a pendent of mercy (Prov 3:3). Let the graceful collar of lace about your neck be woven with sound wisdom and discretion (Prov 3:21,22).
Fasten the bracelet of God’s command- ments on your hand and set the frontlet of God’s Word between your eyes. Let that be your beauty spot (Dt 6:8).
Let the ring of God’s commandments on your finger sparkle your life (Prov 7:3). Deco- rate yourself with ornamental golden ear-ring of obedience (Prov 25:12).
Apply the lipstick of knowledge (Prov 20:15). God gives you beauty talc for ashes (Isa 61:3). Get God’s eye salve for your eyes (Rev 3:18).
Let your testimony be the scent for sweet- smelling savour to the Lord (2 Cor 2:15). Be crowned with lovingkindness and tender mercies (Psa 103:4). Let your heels be resting on the shoes of preparation of the Gospel (Eph 6:15).
Now, stand before the mirror of God’s Word and see if everything is alright (Js 1:23).
Now, are you ready to meet your Beloved? Go to meet Him with your new song (Psa 40:3) and the merry dance (Psa 30:11). He will receive and embrace you saying, “You are all fair, My love, there is no spot in you!” (55 4:7).
